Compost Tahoe is a non-profit organization created to assist the Lake Tahoe region with implementing and sustaining a food waste composting program. Our goal is to educate and inform the residents and visitors of the Lake Tahoe area about the benefits of composting and the need for change in the direction of sustainability.
The overall goal of food waste diversion has expanded to more than just food. With the growing popularity of plant based compostable packaging, many of your to-go boxes, cutlery sets, coffee cups, and other disposable products can be included in the food waste collection and then transformed into a valuable soil amendment for use in home gardening or large scale agricultural and landscaping projects.
